Discovery 1 & 2 All-Metal Window Switch Refresh Kit

Due to the cost I deliberated long and hard, investigating alternative fixing options before pressing the 'buy' button. Thankfully I had nothing to be concerned about as Golden Rovers have designed and manufactured an excellent solution for the brittle plastic holding the window switches.

With the aid of the YouTube video and the written instructions installation was a breeze and if not for the clips a 10 minute job. The issue with the clips is that they must be an off the shelf design purchased in bulk and the opening is too small to open up easily to accept the silver plate plus the plastic without thinking what plastic is left is going to shatter under the Herculian effort of getting the clip to fit on.

In the end I squashed down all the prongs and with a wide, flat screwdriver opened up the clip opening to make them a simple push on and hey presto!

Materials are A1! Aluminium bezel, not plastic and once all firmly, but not over tightened, screwed down the switches are rock solid and on my kit didn't foul as a previous reviewer has mentioned.

This is the refresh I needed on my Disco. Easy to install and looks amazing.

I had previously ordered the dashboard mount kit which was super high quality and fit great and I know u wanted that more perfect fit and finish for my window switch plate in my 1995 Discovery. Once again the product fit great looks awesome and was easy to install! Plus I love the little bonus stickers as well! Shop their great catalog today!

No longer do I need to worry about plate wobbling after rolling up windows. This upgrade is super easy to install and is built solid.

This product is a godsend. My switch plate was crumbling, and every time I needed to use a switch it disintegrated even more. Combine with an inexpensive cover plate, the problem was solved. Looks like they now have a backing plate in case the plastic screw tabs a shot, and a cover plate, which is good to know. Thanks for having this solution!

I have a 96 disco with 100k miles and for those of you who know, somehow land rover was allowed to use the cheapest plastic available to construct most of the interior of this vehicle. That being said, any mounting point for anything in the interior has the ability to disintegrate if you look at it wrong. Thankfully golden rovers had noticed this and sells this killer package for the center console. All my mounting tabs for the window controls had turned to dust many moons ago which made the console chatter nonstop. The broken tab fixer was incredibly easy to install and exceptionally sturdy. The metal window switch holder is perfectly cut and holds all the controls nice n snug. The metal window switch bezel has an awesome finish and looks great installed. I also really appreciate the easy clean rubber mat as the original was an absolute nightmare to clean thoroughly. All in all they shipped my order quickly, they have great install instructions and the quality of the product is phenomenal. It was also super nice to get some merch with my order (a couple stickers and an air freshener). I will gladly rep these guys and tell everyone with a disco to buy from here. Thanks for being one of the few company's to hold yourself to a higher standard! Will be buying more soon!

This kit is a great solution to the factory switch panel. It cleaned up the center console and eliminates the frustration of constantly fussing with window and seat heater switches.

The switch slots on the bottom aren't big enough, and the switches hit the bottom and/or top when pressed. Sometimes they get stuck. I had to grind down the aluminum base a little to fix the problem. This happened with both the original LR switches and Britpart switches. Aside from that, it's a great idea, looks fantastic, and could be improved.

Great upgrade, sturdy and it fits nicely like original stock.

Much much better than the OEM which was very flimsy ABS.
Wish you would offer a cover for the speakers the back door. It is also flimsy, especially for an area that holds cargo.

We were lucky enough to bid on and win one of these panels at URE. This is a well designed product that does exactly what it intended to do. The switch panel was super easy to install and it gives this area of the console a very “finished” appearance! We love it!

You attack the front can be a bit tricky but I got it after a few tries!

Golden Rover's Window Switch Kit saved the day in my Disco 1. Since much of my mounting plastic was broken & missing, the double sided tape recommendation in the directions came it very handy. My only criticism would be with the thickness of the metal switch plate - In one of my window switches, the action catches on the switch plate at times - Either a less thick plate or increasing the switch openings a little more would alleviate this - If it bothers me too badly, I'll file the opening and touchup paint if needed.
